Boss Berlin - Diverse and Exciting

The diversity of Germany, to us was most prominent in Berlin. The capital city was a big melting point of many cultures, identities and times. Transit between Turkey, Africa and Vietnam in a matter of strasses and from Romanesque to futuristic in a matter of few U-bahn stops.

The history was intense and recent, and the evidence was overpowering in a city where most structures have been re-built as a lionhearted emergence from torrid times.

The architectural vision of Fredrick II, the ruthlessness of the "Third" reich, an iron-curtain wall built overnight and its accidental decommission were all historical chapters of magnitude, manifested till today in Berlin.

A very moving visit was to the "Neue Wache" war memorial that houses a sculpture of "mother and her dead son" under an open oculus, exposing it to all climates of Berlin and therefore symbolising the suffering of civilians during WWII

Apart from chilling history, there was also plenty of hot curry wurst!
